Pre-school Room (3 Years and Over)

Our pre-school room offers children more freedom of choice as well as structured activities. Group work with their Key Person is one step towards the EYFS, but freedom of choice is just as important, this is where staff ‘observe’ the children’s own initiated activities as sometimes children are more responsive when the adult is watching from the side lines. They will of course join in the children’s ‘playing’ when asked to do so or when ‘play’ again gets to boisterous. The activities we offer help the children prepare for transition to primary school. The curriculum will offer our children the chance to learn by supporting, promoting and developing their learning which is shaped through 7 areas which are Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, Physical Development. The specific areas are Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
